Architecture Sarasota’s mission is rooted in Hiss’s belief that good architecture can transform places and inspire lives. Because you believe as we do that the organization’s mission is essential to retaining the very essence of what makes Sarasota “Sarasota,” we hope we can count on your support. Funds raised at the Hiss Dinner will serve to advance Architecture Sarasota’s work in many ways, including the launch of several new initiatives. We are currently developing a geospatial database that will help organize and disseminate information about the places, spaces, and people of the Sarasota School. Available through the organization’s website, this dynamic tool will also be utilized as part of a comprehensive re-survey of the Sarasota School and other significant mid-20th century buildings and properties that lend Sarasota its unique sense of place.
