ARCHITECTURE SARASOTA RECEIVES DOCOMOMO US ADVOCACY CITATION OF MERIT
The Restoring a Sense of Place Disaster Recovery Program has been honored with the Docomomo US 2025 Modernism in America Award, Citation of Merit for its quick and forward-thinking response to Hurricanes Helene and Milton in 2024.
Within 72 hours of Hurricane Helene, Architecture Sarasota mobilized a comprehensive strategy to support owners and stewards of historic structures through five key initiatives: documentation, assessments, information sharing, emergency landmark determinations, and adaptation.
